Around Ararat Today: July 4

Weather:

Well yesterday's sun was nice but you better take the washing off the line because the rain is back! Partly cloudy today with some scattered showers extending throughout the morning. A top today of 12 but it will feel much colder.

Quote of the Day:

“This violence is predominantly caused by men, and it is up to the rest of the male community to make it clear that it isn’t normal (or acceptable) behaviour." - Ararat Rural City Council CEO Andrew Evans on the project to create healthier workplaces, free from sexism, violence and discrimination which AME Systems and Ararat Rural City Council have introduced.

Petition:

With the future funding for the Central Grampians LLEN beyond 2014 in doubt, a petition has been started...

“I would like to draw your attention to a petition that I have recently started on 'Change.org' which is aimed at getting the State and Federal governments to reverse their decisions to cut funding to Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENS). I started the petition on Monday evening and we already have around 130 supporters. Hopefully, this is just the beginning and we can get hundreds if not thousands more people on board.” - Aidan Leahy, Partnership Broker Central Grampians LLEN.
