James Tedesco’s season could be over after the fullback broke his kneecap in the first play of the Tigers’ match against Canberra at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night.
Tedesco was taken to hospital as his teammates found their way to an 18-12 lead at half-time in a contest which had it all. In his first appearance against the Raiders since opting out of his rich long-term deal to join the club next year, Tedesco lasted less than 15 seconds when his knee collided with Canberra captain’s Terry Campese from a towering trademark Pat Richards’ kick-off to start the match.
The injury could see Tedesco sidelined for up to 12 weeks.
Coincidentally, it was Tedesco's first match against the Raiders after he recently turned his back on the club after originally signing a four-year deal to head to the national capital.
