Lauren is one of the personal trainers selected to work with one of eight Ararat Active8 participants in a 12 week program which will see them become healthier, fitter and lose weight. Each participant will also be mentored by a Biggest Loser contestant.
Lauren is a personal trainer at the Ararat YMCA and has been a PT for two years.
"When I was in year 11 I thought I would have an interest in the industry and when I finished year 12 VCE I then went and did my PT course," she said.
Lauren enjoys her job, mainly because she likes seeing people making changes to their life and becoming happier and healthier.
The Ararat Active8 program came along at a great time for Lauren, who enjoys being active in the community and helping people.
"I love any opportunity to get involved with the community and make a change," she said.
She also believes being involved in the program will be a great experience and was happy to agree to participate as a personal trainer in the Ararat Active8 challenge.
The participant paired with Lauren can expect great support and motivation.
"I will help to motivate them, encourage them, support them and give them the right training tools to get the best results they can," she said.
The official launch of the Ararat Active8 program will be held at 9am on Saturday, July 12 at the Ararat YMCA basketball courts.
People who attend can participate in a mass group session with the personal trainers, Biggest Loser mentors and new participants in the Ararat Active8 Challenge.
All participants will be presented to Ararat at a Gala Ball at the end of their 12 week program on October 11 at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre.
