With just under five weeks until opening night, the cast and band have been rehearsing long hours to ensure another quality stage show is presented by the Society and the backstage crew have been busy building sets and sewing costumes.
Under the direction of Sue O'Neill and musical direction of Wally Pope, it will be the first time The Witches of Eastwick has been presented by an amateur theatre company in Australia.
Director Sue O'Neill is encouraging anyone who wants early bird tickets to get in early, as they are only available until the end of May and said the cast, coupled with a live band, will make it a show to remember.
"This show has a live band comprising some local musicians and some who have travelled from Ballarat, all lead by the Ararat City Band musical master, Wally Pope," she said.
Ms O'Neill said The Witches of Eastwick was an opportunity to see a show which is a fantastic romp with toe tapping songs and dance numbers.
"It has been performed professionally in Melbourne but this is the first amateur performance in Australia," she said.
"In my opinion it is a hidden gem of a musical that has managed to come in under the radar.
"Don't miss it, you will love the music and leave the hall humming. Some of the choruses are so catchy you will even remember them."
The Witches of Eastwick will be staged at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre on June 20, 21, 22 (matinee), 27 and 28. Tickets are through www.trybooking.com or at the APAC box office during office hours.
