The Hawks took on the might of Moyston/Willaura turning a nine point final break deficit into an 11 point victory.
Tatyoon coach Jarrod Blandford said the calibre of the team they were playing didn't matter, more important was his team's ability to come up with the winning result.
"It doesn't really matter who the opposition is, it is just important for us to get the four points so that we can continue on our winning run," he said.
"I think it was just our attack on the football, we made sure we were first to the ball all day."
Blandford said Kye Chapple, Damian Cameron and Tim McDougall stood up and led the team's second half revival which saw it kick 10 goals to the Pumas' five.
"Those guys really took the chance when it was required," he said.
Mitch Cronin, Nathan Mahoney and Jason Cameron were also named among the undefeated team's best.
Tatyoon's 12.8 (80) to 10.9 (69) win was only tainted by a serious injury to Anthony Brady who was stretched off halfway through the second quarter.
Blandford declined to comment further on Brady's injury, with the full extent yet to be determined.
For the Pumas Daniel Guinane, who shouldered most of the ruck work, was named best on ground.
Guinane was helped by Josh Day, Luke Thomas, Aaron McKinnis, Aaron Pianta and Aidan Bell.
Panic is beginning to set in at Great Western after the Lions surrendered their advantage to Penshurst in a second half fade out.
It is the Lions' third loss of the season and was made all the more disappointing by the fact the team worked hard to lead for the majority of the contest.
Great Western was almost three goals clear of Penshurst approaching half time but a second half swing in momentum saw the Bombers gain the ascendancy.
The Lions kicked just one second half goal, no where near enough to match it with the Bombers' seven. Penshurst finished victorious 11.15 (81) to Great Western 9.10 (64).
Leigh Preston strung together another tidy performance for the Lions, while young gun Tom McCord, Lachie Malloy, Brett Dowie, Ben Birch-Burton and Cody Virgona were also named in the best.
SM&W Rovers were by no means convincing but can take some heart from collecting their first win of the season.
The Bulldogs were slow to start trailing Woorndoo/Mortlake by 21 points at quarter time.
Rovers lifted their pressure and intensity in the second term, but were still facing a 15-point deficit approaching halftime.
Down by the slimmest of margins one point at three quarter time the team's senior and more experienced players were able to out stay their spirited opponents and finish in front 14.12 (96) to 12.12 (84).
Sam O'Brien kicked four of the Bulldogs' 14 goals to be named among the best.
John Forbes was awarded best on ground for his efforts while Joseph Carmody, Thomas Thewlis, Shaun Liston and Adam Stasse also received mentions.
Wickliffe/Lake Bolac got its season back on track by handing Glenthompson Dunkeld its second defeat of the season.
The Magpies kicked eight second quarter goals to turn an eight point lead at the first break into 60 points at halftime.
The Rams' second goal of the match didn't occur until midway through the final term.
It was a miserable result for the Rams and a percentage booster for the Magpies, which finished 19.12 (126) to 2.3 (15).
Jake Clark was the most impressive for the Magpies awarded best on ground for his efforts.
Charles Archer, Lachlan Kelly, Alexander McIntyre, Leigh Perkins and Lachlan Barclay were also named in the best.
The Ararat Eagles were on the receiving end of another defeat, this time the team finished 53 points worse for wear thanks to Caramut.
The Eagles were competitive until three quarter time, the Swans failure to convert on goal, leaving the door open for an unlikely Ararat victory in the final term.
Its chances went begging as the Swans ran over the visitors in the final quarter with 11 scoring shots to the Eagles' none, 13.23 (101) to 7.6 (48).
Tom Taurau kicked three of the Eagles' goals to be named best afield. Michael Naawi, Lewis Baker, Nathan Wemyss, Joel Turner and Jordan Thomas were also named among the best for their efforts.
Hawkesdale/Macarthur, in recording its second win of the season, dealt Lismore/Derrinallum its first loss.
Despite being consistently inaccurate in front of goal the Eagles stunned the Demons in the final term to win by a goal, 15.18 (108) to 16.6 (102).
In the reserves competition three teams remain undefeated four rounds into the season.
Tatyoon, SM&W Rovers and Hawkesdale/Macarthur all enjoyed big wins at the weekend to continue the winning run.
Little percentage separates the three clubs on the ladder, with the Bulldogs (354.81%) narrowly holding down top spot from the Eagles (315.04). Tatyoon sits in third position on 267.97 percent.
In the 16 and unders Lismore/Derrinallum is the only side yet to drop a match
