Council has resolved to seek authorisation from the Minister for Planning, Matthew Guy to prepare and exhibit amendment C25 to the Ararat Planning Scheme which is to rezone land from Framing Zone to Industrial Zone.
The new method for proceeding with amendment C25 has come about after several delays which have meant that it has not proceeded in a timely manner.
Council first carried a motion to seek authorisation for an amendment to the Ararat Planning Scheme to rezone the land at its August 2012 Ordinary Meeting.
After several delays it has now been determined that the appropriate form for the amendment is a standard amendment with full notice to be given to adjacent landowners.
The landowners immediately opposite the Western Highway and adjacent to Council's Energy Park land will be notified and given a chance to make a submission if they believe it is necessary.
It is anticipated that this process will be completed by July but will depend on the exhibition of the amendment and any subsequent submissions.
