ARARAT - Tyrepower Ararat will turn pink today to support the fourth annual Kumho Tyres Pink Fitters Day benefiting the McGrath Foundation.

Pink Fitters Day is Kumho Tyres' annual community-driven charity initiative that sees tyre dealerships Australia-wide fundraise for the McGrath Foundation by turning pink for the day.The fundraising event will give Tyrepower Ararat's customers the chance to win their next fitted set of tyres for free, if they purchase McGrath Foundation merchandise today. All proceeds from the themed merchandise will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.

Pink Fitters Day ambassador and well know TV personality Kerri-Anne Kennerley is calling on the local community to show their support for the cause, by visiting Tyrepower Ararat to purchase merchandise, get their tyres checked or to make a donation to the McGrath Foundation.

"Pink Fitters Day 2014 is going to be a lot of fun! Not only will you see a number of blokes dressed in pink for the day, but your contribution will also help raise vital funds for the McGrath Foundation and its fabulous Breast Care Nurses," Ms Kennerley said.

"I was fortunate enough to have a strong support network and access to a fantastic breast care nurse when I needed it most, but I know this isn't the case for everyone. The McGrath Foundation is working to ensure communities across Australia have access to their services when needed most."

There are currently 89 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working across Australia and as of March 2014 the McGrath Foundation has helped support more than 25,000 families.

The Foundation aims to fund 150 nurses so that every person dealing with breast cancer has access to optimal care, no matter where they live or their financial situation.

"Experiencing breast cancer is exhausting and overwhelming. Having someone by your side to answer all the hard questions and give reassurance is critical to your mental wellbeing. The McGrath Foundation's work enables just this," Ms Kennerley said.

More than 280 Kumho Tyre dealerships across the country will be participating in Pink Fitters Day this year. Merchandise for sale includes McGrath Foundation wristbands and pink tyre valve caps.
