Volunteers can register their interest at the Ararat Fire Station from 8.30am this Friday morning.
Children will ride in buses and will be supervised at all times by volunteers while they are collecting.
Morning tea will be supplied with the collection to conclude at about 1pm and lunch also provided.
For more information on what is involved and to find out just how easy it is to make a difference please contact Prue Cosgriff on 0458 728 438.
The Ararat Fire Brigade has co-ordinated the town's Good Friday Appeal for 45 years and has raised more than $700,000 in that time.
In 2013 people of the Ararat and district community helped to raise a record breaking total of $26,146.10.
Crews from the Ararat Fire Brigade, the State Emergency Service and the many children who turn up on the day to assist with the collection will be shaking tins and making lots of noise around the streets in the hope that people will spare them some loose change.
Volunteers would love to see another increase on last year's tally and are encouraging people to continue to place money in plastic collection containers located in many shops around town.
The money raised locally has been used by the Royal Children's Hospital to ensure the highest standard of care is given to children by funding projects and initiatives that would otherwise not be possible.
All money raised throughout the year and on the day itself goes into Ararat's 2014 Appeal total, which can been seen on the country tally board during the RCH Good Friday Appeal telethon broadcast on Prime7 Television this Friday from 9am.
