Ararat’s Jon Ross faced the clippers at a special event at Civic Video which attracted about 50 people. He lost his locks in the name of a good cause, raising $3,725 for the Foundation through the World’s Greatest Shave event as well as collection tins around town.
“My original goal was about $500 but we smashed that in two days,” he said.
“The generosity of people in this town is incredible, even strangers were donating money to me.”
The fundraising event included face painting and hair colouring and a cutest pet competition.
Mr Ross said he chose three children to be the judges and was pleased he did.
“The three young kids really did pick the cutest pets!” he said.
Mr Ross thanked all those who attended and donated money and businesses who donated goods for a raffle.
“I want to send out the biggest thank you to all the businesses who donated - I couldn’t have done it without them,” he said.
“It was just outstanding.”
