Geoff Cox and Joy Trigger were married on February 1 1964 in the Methodist Church, Hamilton.
Mr Cox worked for the State Bank of Victoria and they started married life at Yallaurn then moved to Lismore, Camperdown and lastly Ararat where they remained after Mr Cox retired.
The couple have two children, Joanne and Greg, married to Andrew and Kim respectively, as well as six grandsons and two grand daughters.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends, with Ararat Rural City Mayor Cr Paul Hooper dropping by to present them with a certificate of recognition and flowers.
