Police were called to Corella Place, a residential centre for sex offenders who have completed their sentence but are unable to be released into the community, adjacent to Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat, on new year's eve.
Policed allege the 29 year old man damaged property in the first victim's residence after which he took a porcelain statue and hit the victim on the head, causing lacerations which saw the man conveyed to Ararat Hospital with injuries.
The man then allegedly assaulted another victim by punching him to the face, again causing lacerations, and also allegedly assaulted a third victim.
Police also allege the man picked up a parcel trolley and smashed windows in the administration area.
More than $5000 damage was caused to the residential facility.
The man was arrested and remanded in custody.
