The Giraffe Award was designed to reward Ararat businesses that were prepared to 'stick their neck out', rewarding business owners and operators who have shown the courage and initiative in striving to further enhance and grow their business
The RSL's recent $1.4 million refurbishment was completed in around five months at a very high standard.
"We maintained our standard of service throughout the five months journey, and only had to close the doors for one week out of the twenty," general manager, Maria Whitford, said.
She also praised her staff highly for working through the changes and adapting and continuing their great service.
"We all had a common goal," she said.
The award was presented to her by business development officer John Watson.
