In the latest case of vandalism perpetrators have caused between $5,000 and $8,000 damage to two v/line train carriages.
The graffiti is believed to have occurred some time between December 5 and 6.
Just days earlier a similar case of vandalism was reported to police. The criminal acts are just the most recent in a long line of instances of vandalism of train carriages at the Ararat rail yards.
Not only does it cost hundreds of dollars to remove the graffiti but causes delays for passengers as the carriages are taken out of service.
The offenders have been accessing the secure yards by cutting wire mesh fencing.
Anyone who has witnessed anything in the last couple of months is urged to contact Ararat police 5355 1500 or crime stoppers 1800 333 000.
