ARARAT - East Grampians Health Service has gratefully received a $1,200 donation from the Ararat Harness Racing Club.
Ararat Harness Racing Club President Bob Collins said thanks to the local community the club has now raised more than $5,500 in the past two years for the Oncology Unit at the hospital.
Volunteers from the club spent countless mornings selling raffle tickets for a television which ended up being won by the Willaura Hospital Auxiliary.
Mr Collins said next year with greater support the club will hope to raise even more money for the local facility.
"Last year we raised enough money for two treatment chairs and next year we believe we can surpass that with continued support from the local community."
