Ararat - Earlier this year, young local Cassie Neil, together with family and friends, celebrated her 21st birthday.
The night was enjoyed by all who attended with music suplied by local duo Ruth and Ziggie Strauja.
Cassie's mum Jo McCutcheon said her daughter is a beautiful young woman who enjoys life and her needs are few. She has no pre conceived expectations or demands and she expects nothing of the people in her life other than for them to accept her unconditional love.
This made figuring what to give Cassie for her birthday quite a challenge for those attending the party of the year.
The suggestion was made by Cassie's other mum Teresa Gemmola, that Cassie may enjoy a trip to Queensland to experience a swim with the dolphins adventure.
"Teresa and Peter Gemmola along with their wonderful family and friends have been Cassie's Interchange Host Family for the past 15 years," Ms McCutcheon said.
"The bond that has developed over the years between the two families has strengthened and enhanced the relationships of all involved."
Cassie and Teresa met 'RB' the dolphin along with his trainer, where they got to interact with him, throwing and catching a ball, feeding him fish and asking him to speak by using signals and cues.
During the day RB had completed a painting, holding a brush in his mouth and this painting is now proudly hanging in Cassie's home.
"Cassie really enjoyed her trip to Queensland and the experiences she had there," Ms McCutcheon said.
"On behalf of Cassie I would like to extend her sincere thanks to all who attended her 21st birthday party and contributed to this wonderful experience for her."
