ARARAT - Mums and their babies will be the focus of new exercise classes at Ararat's Neighbourhood House which will begin at the start of the next school term.
Fitness instructor, Chris Atkins said the class will be in addition to a regular class they have running on Tuesday mornings from 10am.
The $2 a week circuit class for people of all ages runs for one to two hours depending on numbers and divides into two streams.
"Depending on what people want to achieve, it focuses on either weight loss or health," he said.
"It aims to reduce and manage the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease as well as encourage weight loss.
"We provide exercise bands for resistance exercises. Resistance aims to improve daily tasks by functional exercising."
The Mums and Prams class next term will focus on power pramming and participants will be able to complete exercises which involve the use of their babies.
"This will allow mum to spend time with the baby while working out," Mr Atkins said.
The day, time and cost of the classes is yet to be determined. For more information phone the Ararat Neighbourhood House on 5352 1551.
