REGION - Police are reminding people to be on their best behaviour as they celebrate the end of the football season by attending local finals.
Ararat Police Sergeant Shane Allgood said officers take a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour at the events.
"Police will be keeping a close eye on the consumption of alcohol at local venues," he said.
"It is the responsibility of people consuming alcohol and those that are serving it to ensure everyone is drinking in moderation."
The Ararat region has already been the location for several football finals and will this year host the Wimmera Football League preliminary final at Alexandra Oval.
"The finals and football in general are family days so we expect people to be enjoying it, making the most of it, but also behaving themselves," Sgt Allgood said.
People who are found to be drunk in public or misbehaving under the influence of alcohol face the likelihood of an arrest or a fine.
