ARARAT - Granny, Get Your Gun, written by Ararat playwrights John Mawson and Rob Smith, was a rip-roaring success in 2012, so the Ararat Theatre Company has decided to follow it up this year with the sequel.
Granny Rides Again is a stand-alone show and another hilarious theatre-restaurant play, the likes of which have proven so popular with theatre-goers over the years.
There are thirty-one roles in this production, so anyone interested in taking part is almost certain to gain a role.
While some actors may well reprise their roles from 2012, nothing is definite at this time and there is bound to be a need to fill a large number of roles.
First up for Granny will be the read-through and familiarisation night. This will take place in the Arts and Craft Room (at the rear of the Ararat Performing Arts' Centre) on Tuesday, August 27, commencing at 7.30pm, so mark that on your calendar or put in it your mobile phone now!
Please get along to the read-through, but remember, if you intend to be part of the end-of-year show you must be willing to attend rehearsals every Tuesday and Thursday night and be willing to give up a lot of your nights in November, because ATC is taking Granny 'on the road'.
There will be five performances of the show, with the two Ararat performances on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.
It will also be staged in Elmhurst on Friday, November 15, Lake Bolac on Saturday, November 16 and Moyston on Friday, November 29.
If you are familiar with ATC's end-of-year shows, you would know that they are a riot with all involved having a fantastic time.
The Ararat Theatre Company looks forward to a huge roll-up on the Tuesday night and would like to say that everyone is absolutely welcome.
