ARARAT - Ten gymnasts from the Ararat and District Gymnastics Club with compete in the State Pennant finals this weekend.
Ararat's national development program level one prep and level two prep gymnasts have been very busy representing the club over the past two months.
Gymnasts have been competing at competitions in Stawell, Bendigo and Melbourne with excellent results being produced.
The level one squad has been training two and a half hours a week, while the level two squad has been putting in three and a half hours a week.
Both teams have been working towards qualifying for this weekend's State Pennant Finals.
The two teams achieved the feat earlier this month at the State Pennant Qualifiers held at MLC in Kew.
The top three teams from each level and zone will qualify for finals and within some levels there are 10-plus teams, so to qualify is a huge success.
Each team is made up of five gymnasts each. Within each team, gymnasts complete four routines - One each on vault, bars, beam and floor.
The level one team is coached by Gab Cocking and includes Larni Coburn, Charlotte Millear, Annabelle Price, Sophia Van Opstal and Sabaya Woods.
Briana Hopper-Britton coaches the level two girls, Clare Burmester, Ivana Donnan, Emily Manning, Ella McLoughlin and Carly Sporton.
