$4500 raised at Willaura Market

WILLAURA - Beautiful weather once again brought a large crowd out for the Willaura Market, with more stall holders and variety of goods and foods for sale this year.

The Willaura Health Care Auxiliary raised more than $4,500 from the proceeds of the market which will be donated to Willaura Health Care for furnishings and equipment.

Willaura Market coordinator Jane Millear said students from Ararat 800 Primary School entertained the crowd with their skilful circus acts and the music of Ruth and Ziggy created a great atmosphere for the day.

"There were delicious aromas coming from Danny's Kitchen and the Lions Club barbecue too which tempted the appetites along with donuts, pancakes and hot potato twists and topped off with homemade ice creams," she said.

A major Willaura Health Care auxiliary raffle, which had been going over a number of weeks leading up to the market was drawn.

Arthur Bullen took out first prize, two night's accommodation at Pinnacle Holiday Lodge, while second prize, a Greenvale Meats package went to Colin McKenzie.

Joan Jenkinson won third prize which was a voucher for UFS Pharmacy Willaura.

Ms Millear said seeing the community come together and enjoy what the day had to offer was one of the highlights of the market.

"The support from the community at large and the help from volunteers was greatly appreciated which made the day run smoothly," she said.
