Ararat - Aegis Correctional Partnership Pty Ltd has announced that it has executed a Heads of Agreement with Brookfield Multiplex Constructions Pty Ltd (BM) for the Hopkins Correctional Centre Expansion Project at Ararat.
Brookfield Multiplex has already been closely involved in the extensive construction activity underway since the collapse of the previous builders, St Hilliers and Hawkins, last year.
The Commonwealth and Bendigo and Adelaide Banks (which now form the new Aegis group) announced in October they had reached an agreement with Brookfield Multiplex for the immediate recommencement of work at the site.
Under a new deal reached with the Coalition Government last August, the banks will complete the prison project. In doing so, they have assumed all risk, guaranteeing delivery of the project.
The Ararat project is now due for completion in late 2014.
