Ararat - A huge cast of more than 50 people will take to the stage in Ararat Musical Comedy Society's 2013 production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Director Grant Johnson and musical director Leanne McCready were overwhelmed with the huge turnout at auditions and at the breadth of talent displayed.
"The talent that was shown at the auditions made our job in deciding the cast very difficult, but we believe we have come up with an amazing cast," Mr Johnson said.
"More than 50 people will take to the stage in a variety of roles, and most cast members will take on three or four roles to cover the many characters in the production."
The two lead roles will be played by Eliza Seres as Belle and Riley Mason as the Beast, and together they will lead a cast ranging in age from seven to 60.
Rehearsals are now underway with the show to open in June at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre.
