ARARAT - The community is invited to support a local family by attending the Team TnT Family Fundraising Day at Alexandra Oval later this month.
The foundation, Team TnT, has been set up to raise money for Tayla and Thomas Sladdin who were both born with Cystic Fibrosis.
This incurable disease takes its toll on the family, with Tayla, 4, spending at least 12 weeks in hospital last year and Thomas, six months, already spending about two weeks hospitalised this year.
The cost of medications and the time that parents Ash and Jess need to take off work to provide physiotherapy and support for the children is something most people could not imagine having to do.
Family friends Beck Stephens and Jodi Pitcher decided to establish Team TnT to lend a helping hand and raise money to go towards a trust fund to provide much needed funds for medications.
All money raised from the fun day at Alexandra Oval will go to either the Healthwise Pharmacy in Ararat or the Pharmacy at the Royal Children's Hospital.
Ms Stephens said there will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family including a jumping castle, rock-climbing wall, bungee swing and face painting, all of which are a gold coin donation.
"We got performances from some of the local schools including a choir, drama performances and Ararat 800 will be doing their circus act," she said.
"We also have the dance schools running dance performances and a class. There will also be a canteen, barbecue and fairy floss available."
Raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the day, with prizes being donated from various local businesses.
Ms Stephens said there would hopefully also be an appearance from the four main McDonalds characters, who will perform a 30-minute magic show followed by a meet and greet.
"All of this is being donated, I'd love to name all the sponsors but we have just had so much phenomenal support of the day that it is too difficult to name everyone individually," she said.
"We are acknowledging everyone on our Facebook page and then on the day we will have an MC that will be thanking people throughout the day.
"Everyone has been so generous, the response to it all, we can't express our gratitude enough."
Entry to the Fun Day on Sunday, February 17 will be $5 per child. For more information contact Jodi Pitcher (0448 338 070), Beck Stephens (0429 429 860) or search 'Team TnT - Family Fundraising Day' on Facebook.
