"The extra fish would be yearling trout around 12 centimetres long, weighing 40 grams each," Member for Lowan Hugh Delahunty said.
"Fisheries Victoria managers expect these trout to grow quickly and reach one kilogram by winter next year," Mr Delahunty said.
"However, anglers won't have to wait that long because the Green Hill Lake already contain catchable size trout from stockings earlier this year and over recent years since the drought broke.
"Fishing is a great pastime and an activity that the whole family can enjoy," Mr Delahunty said.
Last year, Fisheries Victoria stocked nearly 700,000 trout into more than 130 waters throughout the state, thanks in part to recreational fishing licence fees.
