A MAN has been arrested after a car, believed to have been involved in a shooting on Friday, was found on fire in Campbelltown on Sunday night.
Police found the maroon Ford Falcon alight about midnight. It has been identified as the vehicle that was seen leaving a nearby used-car yard after the shooting.
Members of a helicopter and dog squad were searching for a man seen in the area.
A 34-year-old man was arrested soon after and is being held at Campbelltown police station for breach of bail conditions. Police hoped to interview him today, a spokesman said.
Forensic specialists are expected to examine the car today.
Last week police said the circumstances of the shooting in the car yard on Blaxland Road remained unclear.
A 23-year-old man was killed and a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his neck.
A third man, in his 20s, was released without charge.
