The match went down to the wire but RSL managed to snatch the victory, 5-68 to 6-67.

Justin Pelly added plenty of spark to the RSL line-up and put rising balls away with strong volleys and slams.

Annemarie Driscoll was the stand out of the RSL ladies and found form with lively running and solid hitting.

For the losing side, Sam Hoffmann dominated in his three sets, while Riley Hamilton showed plenty of his family's natural talent with fluid footwork and great shots from the baseline.

In the second match of the day, Spalding and McCutcheon recorded a convincing win 8-87 to 4-68 win against cellar-dwellers KFC.

The Spalding and McCutcheon ladies were on fire, led by Carolyne Matthews and Alison Burmester. Matthews served well and drove balls strongly all day, while Burmester's low shots into tight angles resulted in numerous points for her side.

KFC's Sam Gason's consistency paid dividends in his thrilling singles set against brother Oakley, while John Hannett shone in the doubles sets after a shaky start in the singles.
