ARARAT - KFC is back on the winner's list after a solid victory in the Ararat City Tennis Club summer pennant.
The side has struggled to find form in recent weeks, however players banded together to record a 4-84 to 7-78 victory over Christian's Bus Co on Saturday.
KFC ladies led their team well, with Nancy Bowen and Claire Harricks playing outstanding games.
Bowen forced her opposition to make errors all day, returning balls deep into the corners, while Harricks impressed with her strong drive shots on both sides.
Christian's Bus Co's Josh Matthews put up a good fight, dominating play with strong serves and high smashes.
Alan Dunn and Jacqui Kiel also played well despite the loss.
While KFC is making a comeback, Stan Hamilton and Sons remains the team to beat after another convincing win on Saturday.
Spalding and McCutcheon was the latest team to face the wrath of the ladder leaders, going down 3-61 to 8-85.
Morgan Gason played a steady game for the winning side, timing his shots well, while Maryanne Harricks had plenty of success with her low court drive shots.
Annie Fraser also hit form, moving smartly and choosing the right shots for every situation.
Oakley Gason was the top performer for Spalding and McCutcheon, letting fly with perfect timing and court length.
Somi Sekeran served well and chased down balls with great determination.
