Equal on points with Eastick Homes, who had the bye in the last round and were thus guaranteed four points, Fleming's had to win to be any chance of capturing the premiership.

As it was, Fleming's scraped home by just two games against Debbie's Cut Above and claimed the title on percentage.

It was decided on percentage, number of games won over number of games lost, with Fleming's 120.68 percent marginally eclipsing Eastick's 119.92 percent.

In other matches to finish the season Mick Jennings defeated Hitchcock's by seven games, Blizzard's were comfortable winners over Carey's and Rural Steel snuck home against Fratin Brothers.

The Wednesday night men's competition has proven very popular and competitive, with close matches in every round and all teams bar one finishing very close together on points.

The summer season will now break for the Christmas holidays, and will resume again on February 4.

Club secretary Alex Drosg has done a fantastic job with providing results and comments on each game for the Ararat Advertiser, and should be commended for his reliability and attention to detail.
