ARARAT - Teams in the Ararat City Tennis Club summer pennant will have one last chance to improve their ladder position when they battle out the final round of matches this weekend.
After a magnificent season, Ararat RSL is safe in top spot but the number two position is still up for grabs.
Stan Hamilton and Sons and Christian's Bus Co will be the teams vying for this honour tomorrow.
Stan Hamilton and Sons currently sits one win ahead of Christians and will be expected to maintain its lead based on recent form.
The fact it will take on bottom side KFC in the final match will give the Stan outfit added confidence.
Several inconsistent performances throughout the season have crushed KFC's chances of making the finals. Regardless of the result, the side will play its last match tomorrow.
Leading Stan Hamilton player Sam Hoffmann will be out to lead his team to a convincing win and keep hold of second spot.
He will have strong support from the in-form Morgan Gason and Annie Frazer.
If Christian's Bus Co is to move into second spot it will need to overcome competition powerhouse RSL.
The strength of RSL's Marcus Matthews and leading lady Ann Maree Driscoll will make this a difficult task.
Christian's will rely heavily on David Bohner and the ever-reliable Pam White to lift it to victory.
Regardless of whether Stan Hamilton and Sons or Christian's Bus Co finishes in second place, the two teams are set to meet in the semi-finals next Saturday, March 20.
RSL will take on the Spalding and McCutcheon team which is guaranteed fourth position despite copping a bye this week.
With next week's semi-final clashes already decided, tomorrow's matches will be a chance for teams to snatch bragging rights and gain a mental advantage over their rivals.
