ARARAT - The Ararat Gun Club hosted the South West Zone Team Shoot last Saturday.
The competition was held in perfect autumn conditions, with 36 shooters lining up at 9am to contest the placings.
A fine day of shooting was enjoyed by all, commencing with a 10 Target Point Score Eye Opener.
Gary Hargreaves, Wayne Harris and Sam Clifford all shot the `possible' of 30/30.
The next two events were the SW Zone Team Shoots.
The first was the South West Zone 25 Target Handicap, with Sam Clifford (25m) named as the overall winner, shooting 29/30. Second went to Emily Donald (17m) 28/30, third Jarryd Gardiner (17m) 27/30, and fourth David Fenn (17m) 28/30.
The overall and A Grade winner of the South West Zone 25 Target Double Barrel was Wayne Calaby 40/40. Second in A Grade was awarded to Benjamin Wines 39/40.
In AA Grade, the winner was Wayne Harris 34/35, with second place going to Sam Clifford 31/32.
The B Grade winner was David Fenn with 24/25, second was William Jorgensen 27/30.
Penny Smith took out the C Grade competition with 28/30 and second was Scott Koenig 27/30.
The last event for the day was the Ararat Video 25 Target Point Score Championship.
The overall and A Grade winner was Brittany Sinclair 75/75, second went to Gary Hargreaves 74/75.
Sam Clifford 92/93 was victorious in the AA Grade, with Wayne Harris 91/93 finishing as runner up.
The B Grade winner was Emily Donald 73/75, followed by Jarryd Gardiner 68/75.
Honours in C Grade went to Penny Smith 67/75 in first place and Darcy Watts 66/75 in second.
The `Off the Fence' was won by Robert Jorgensen and High Gun was Sam Clifford 152/154.
Noorat was the winning team on the day.
