Tae Kwon Do grading

ARARAT - South East Australian Tae Kwon Do held a grading session for its Ararat students.

The grading was conducted by Neil Boehm, a fifth Dan black belt from Bendigo.

Students train weekly under the guidance of Ararat instructor Matt Brady, who is a third Dan black belt with 14 years' instructing experience.

Students are graded on their ability to perform a series of patterns within each grade, as well as self-defence techniques, one-step sparring, semi-sparring, free sparring, basic blocks and kicking techniques.

Students are also graded on effort, fitness and attitude.

Gradings passed

10th grade: Joseph Dukic, Sandra Culph, Nikki Pitman, Sue Blizzard, Jason McDade, Cassandra Wells, Regina Tinetti, Megan McCarron.

8th grade: Corey Cleggett, Kadina Dalziel, Sarah Blizzard, Tyson Carr, Jarrod Haslett, Bree Chapman, Tahlia Friebel.

7th grade: Ayesha Nicholson, Blake Moore.

6th grade: Ounie Witherow-Aitken, Ashley Jerram, Hannah Morris.

5th grade: Meg Blackie.

4th grade: Brigitta Hodgetts, Brandon Clark, Matthew Kaup, Andrew Batobalani, Lucas Cocking.

3rd grade: Phoebe Brady.
