Quad bikes roar into Ararat

5/09/2008 11:17:00 AM
ARARAT - The finely tuned engines of the ATV's will be roaring at Ararat when the Ararat Motocross Club, along with the Quad Riders Club of Victoria, hold the Victorian Titles this weekend.

Can-Am X-Team, Polaris Race Team and Kawasaki Hardiman Race Team, just to mention a few, will all be primed and pumped ready to set Ararat's Warrak Road track alight in the pro race.

Riders are coming from near and as far as away as Western Australia and Darwin. Western Australia rider Ryan Lancaster will be travelling the long haul to try and retain his 2007 first place position along with local Victorian riders Paul Smith and Aaron Ovens.

Queensland rider Luke Beechey and New South Wales rider Paul Worth will not be missing out on the chance to take home prize money.

Young pro riders Mitch Van Vliet and Cameron Wade will certainly be looking to step it up a notch, and show their skill and agility out against some of the more senior Pro Riders.

With the field being at its largest it will certainly be a weekend full of entertainment, with all riders showing us what these machines are capable of.

Queensland rider Patricia Bartley along with Victorian riders Jeanette Lindsay and Vicky Eden will be tearing up the track in the women's race to see who can be in top position on the podium for 2008.

Even the junior riders will be in the battle for victory.

Local Victorian riders Adam Larson and Jake Van Vliet are itching to get out on the track and let loose on their finely tuned blasters.

Jumbo juniors are coming out in full force with a huge grid and are sure to thrill the crowd with their skill and antics.

These fierce but small quads with their rather oversized riders will be put to the test with E-Ton, Typhoon, Pro Shark, Honda and Suzuki all sharing the limelight.

Now that ATV racing is having such a huge impact on the entire motocross scene, racing at Ararat will certainly be a thrilling event to watch.

There is no doubt this year's Victorian Quad Motocross Championships will be supreme both in competition and organisation.

Full canteen facilities will be available all weekend.

Gates open at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday for all spectators.

For one day visitors, entry is $6 per carload or if parked outside, $2 per adult.
