ARARAT - VRI Bowls Club visited the Stawell Golf/Bowls Club last Sunday to compete in the 10th annual social day.

The master of Stawell/Golf Bowls, Max Howden, welcomed all to the green for a game of triples played over 21 ends.

The game was of a friendly nature, with the Stawell team showing the visitors no mercy on their home turf.

The best winning rink for Stawell Golf/Bowls was Ross Hatton, Kath Rooke and Peter Cross, while the team of Helen Dunn, Betty Howden and Ian McLean was the winning rink for VRI.

Rene Reynolds, Margaret Smart and skip Sam Kelly finished as the best performing VRI team, however Stawell Golf/Bowls managed to win the event with 154 shots to VRI's 105.

After the presentation of trophies all bowlers enjoyed a meal provided by the Stawell Golf/Bowls ladies.

VRI social club chairperson Noelle McDonald congratulated and thanked the home club for an enjoyable afternoon.

The annual social day is an event that all players look forward to and always provides plenty of entertainment and excitement.
