ARARAT - The Ararat Harness Racing Club's April meeting has rolled around quickly following the March meeting.
Some classy fields will ensure another top night's racing at the Russell T White Raceway tomorrow night.
Armstrong trainer Brooke Hansen has two runners in the meeting, with Astral Flight lining up in race four and Powerful Panther in race five.
Astral Flight, a four year old gelding by Jet Laag, will have his fourth start this season tomorrow night.
In his last start at Ararat in March, the gelding finished third, backing up a second placing at Ballarat in March.
Astral Flight will start from barrier four, with Kerryn Manning taking the drive.
Powerful Panther is yet to secure a win this season after 13 starts and is vying for a win in a classy field.
The six year old's best performance, a second placing at Mildura, came earlier in the month, while the gelding also managed a second placing at Stawell in January.
Ararat trainer/driver Michael Bellman will start from barrier three in the same race with Muscle Magic.
The gelding by Motoring Magic has had four starts this season, managing a first up win at Ararat in January.
In his last outing, also at Ararat, the five year old finished second over the same 2195 metre distance, suggesting he could be in for a good showing tomorrow night.
Fellow Ararat trainer/driver Tony Bond is the lone local in race six with Spurfect Renee.
The five year old mare will have her seventh start for the season, following a fifth placing at Ballarat last week.
Her best result this season , a second placing at Stawell, has been followed by a number of finishes just outside the top four.
Bond's other runner for the night, Stopnthink, will make his second start following a five month spell.
The five year old gelding managed a second placing in his first run for the 2008/09 season at Stawell but has fallen short since.
Starting favourably from barrier two, tomorrow night could see a turnaround in the gelding's fortunes.
The first race on the eight card meeting commences at 6.20pm.
