Caulfield raider makes a scene

24 Jan, 2012 08:01 AM
GREAT WESTERN - Caulfield raider Scenic Scene backed up from last Monday's win at NMIT Ararat Park to take out the Seppelt Salinger Great Western Cup on Saturday.

The veteran 10-year-old galloper, trained by Luke Oliver, continues to impress on the country circuit, claiming the $15,000 feature with a lively run over 1800 metres.

With Roger Booth on board, Scenic Scene enjoyed a one-length victory over an improving Sagwala, with Penshurst Cup winner - and punters' elect - Whelan relegated to third place.

It was Booth's second victory for the day, after he saluted aboard Top Tier for trainer Lesley Robertson in race three, the Monaghan's Real Estate 50th Anniversary 0-68 Handicap over 1210 metres.
