ARARAT - The warm weather and greens renovations saw numbers down for Chalambar Golf Club's stableford competition last Saturday.

The warm weather saw the focus shift to a different set of pins with more players wearing shorts for the occasion.

Chalambar's number one shorts wearer Kevin Tassell took out the A grade division with a score of 39 points ahead of Daryl Dunford on 37 points.

Ararat Rats' football coach Scott Turner claimed victory in B grade on 38 points, with Ron Richardson in second place on countback with 35 points.

Bruce Toddun was the competition ball winner on 36 points, while nearest the pins were awarded to Ken Farrar (2nd), Brian Ashton (8th), Arthur Mahoney (15th), Tony Rees (16th) and Peter Hawkins (18th).

Bill Marriott took out the money hole and Tony Rees was number one in the nine-hole chicken run on 23 points.
