Junior golf clinic on this weekend

09 Mar, 2010 08:30 AM
ARARAT - Junior golfing enthusiasts have the opportunity to pick up tips from a professional golfer this Sunday at Chalambar Golf Club.

The club has invited Ballarat Golf Club professional Dominic Azzopardi to run a clinic covering all aspects of golf.

Chalambar Golf Club manager Tim Cronin said the clinic will cater to all levels of golfing ability and encouraged children under 18 with an interest in golf to participate.

''It should be a good day and it will give kids a chance to test their abilities and improve their skills,'' he said.

Mr Cronin said a nine-hole tournament will take place after the clinic.

A number of prizes will be up for grabs during the day, in handicap, non-handicap and age categories.

Golfers are asked to register at 10.30am.

The hour-long clinic will commence at 11am.

A barbecue lunch will be available between the clinic and the tournament.

The combined cost of the clinic, barbecue and tournament is $15.

To register for Sunday's junior golf day, contact Chalambar Golf Club by phoning 5352 4297.
