ARARAT - Brendan Scott defied the misty rain to record the best score at Chalambar Golf Club's Ararat Newsagency and Bill Cairns Stableford competition.
Scott, who remembered to sign his score card, chalked up 41 points to triumph over Des Hull on 39 in C grade.
Scottish import Craig Lennie had a wee bit of luck in A grade when he was awarded the divisional win on countback from Tilla Horvath, both on 39 points.
Ian Tucker also scored 39 points to claim a three-point victory over runner up John Pola in B grade.
Consolation balls for the day went to Mick Verdon, Bruce Toddun, Bill Marriott (all on 36), Jamie Dowling, John Shaw (38) and Peter Devonshire (37) while nearest the pins were awarded to Hull (2nd), Phil Goudie (6th), Dowling (8th), Geof White (15th), Stuart Muller (16th), Ken Hurnell (18th).
Taine Pearse won the money hole.
Tomorrow's event is the March Monthly Medal.
