MDFL - Tatyoon Football Club recently crowned its 2009 best and fairest.

With their grand final loss to Penshurst behind them, the Hawks celebrated the season with a presentation night at the Tatyoon Hall.

For the second year in a row, Richard Tucker was awarded the Noel Heard memorial trophy for the senior best and fairest player.

Tucker had a consistent season, finishing in the best 13 times and averaging 1.3 goals per game.

A five goal performance against Moyston Willaura in round 12 was his highest for the year.

Tucker took out Tatyoon's best and fairest from the ever-reliable Andrew Ward, who claimed the Graham Family trophy.

The E Joyce memorial award for the most consistent player was presented to Tim McDougall.

In the reserves, Tim Gubbins took out the top honour from runner-up Rhys Burger.

Travis McMahon was voted most consistent.

After winning the Mininera and District Football League Under 16 best and fairest, Jack Ganley made it a double by taking out Tatyoon's club best and fairest.

Joel Fitzpatrick was presented with the runner-up trophy.

During presentations coach Doug Walton announced he would be standing down from the role next year.

Walton has an outstanding record at the club, coaching the Hawks to four grand finals and two premierships.

He was thanked by club president Tim Fraser who hopes Walton will remain at Tatyoon in some capacity next season.
