MDFL - Jake Clark has taken out the Wickliffe Lake Bolac senior best and fairest award for 2009.
The Magpies held their vote count the day after the Mininera and District Football League grand final, with the young gun onballer claiming victory over Richard Blackburn.
Clark had a spectacular season, providing the side with plenty of run through the midfield and finishing the year with 16 goals.
Blackburn was another clear standout in the Magpies' unit.
His ability to take strong marks and read the ball saw him consistently listed among the top contributors.
New recruit Angus Gilmore received the award for the best team player.
Gilmore had a solid year after making the move over from the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League.
His workrate and unselfish play saw him become a valued member of the young Magpies team, with the club recognising his efforts during presentations.
Brad Wallace was judged the most determined player.
Always first to the contest, Wallace's never-say-die attitude is respected by all at the Wickliffe-Lake Bolac Football Club.
Wallace had a consistent year and played an important role in the Magpies' line up.
However, the award for the most consistent player was won by Simon Whelan.
The ever-reliable Wheelan had another great season with the Magpies' and was the shining light of the team's defensive unit.
Clark capped off a successful night by claiming the coach's award for the 2009 season.
Coach Leo Fitzpatrick rewarded Clark for his impressive pre-season efforts and his performance at trainings and on game days.
The reserves' best and fairest was won by Jeremy Albert, with Andrew Hamence claiming runner-up honours.
