ARARAT - Members of the Ararat Orchid Society will present their annual Spring Orchid Show this weekend.
This show will be the 30th Orchid Show conducted by the club and members are proud of the long history in maintaining quality shows in Ararat for so many years.
The visiting public will see numerous large themed displays, table top and mini displays featuring a wide range of orchid genera.
A large non-competitive display by Ararat Rural City is always a highlight of the show and the floral art arrangements are something else to see.
Cultural advice is always available from members present at the show and literature can be obtained at the sale area.
Heather Lockland will be present and demonstrate paper tole art and she will also have many beautiful works on display.
There will be an extensive area of good quality orchids for sale but be there early as they always sell quickly.
Light refreshments will be available and the public can sit in a peaceful atmosphere among the orchids and enjoy their food.
Access to the hall is wheelchair friendly and there is plenty of room to move among the displays.
The society welcomes visitors from surrounding towns and other orchid clubs and often has visitors from interstate calling in to the show as well as their loyal local visitors.
The Society looks forward to welcoming visitors to its 30th Orchid Show at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre this weekend, from 10am each day.
